Heat Exchange

Heat exchange for high viscous products, either heating or cooling, is very complex. The laminar velocity profile results in poor heat transfer efficiency due to stagnation phases inside the heat exchanger. Hot spots result in poor product quality.

With a static mixer, the flow is continuously split, stretched, recombined and properly conveyed. This forced convection and temperature equalization due to the mixer is reflected in a rate of heat transfer which is 4 – 10 times higher than in an empty pipe. Additionally this technology allows high throughput capacities with a low pressure drop.
